K.D. Borcoman has been an instructional designer, academic technologist, and Acting Director for the Center for Teaching and Learning working for California State University, Dominguez Hills, and the Orange County Department of Education. He has recently taught philosophy and psychology courses entirely online for University of Alaska and Kentucky Technical Insitutue, while currently teaching for California State University, and Yavapai College in Arizona.. He has won several awards for innovation in educational technology. These include the Outstanding Integration of Technology from the Community of Academic Technology Staff (CATS) The Al Maresh Award for Excellence in Alternative Education, Faculty of the Year, Marymount College, CA, The Visionary Leadership Award from CSU and the City of Carson, CA, as well as several others. His online critical thinking course was previously nominated for the Blackboard Exemplary Course Award. He maintains a website for environmental ethics as well as a personal website devoted to philosophy. Hobbies include: astronomy, amateur radio, photography, backpacking, and participating in Earth Day events.
